Have you seen the connection between hidden sin, emotions, and sickness in the Word?

Psalm 32 is all about the connection between hidden sick and sickness!

Here are verses 1-5
“How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered! How blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit!
When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long.
For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer.
I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I did not hide; I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the LORD’; and You forgave the guilt of my sin.”

David was trying to hide his sin from God, but until he confessed it and admitted his guilt, he was physically ill! The clues here say that his body was wasting away and his vitality drained away!

So we can see that hiding sin is one main reason that we stay sick, but sometimes you may not even recognize that you are hiding sin! Usually this blindness comes when we are feeling so guilty and ashamed that we want to run away from God instead of toward Him.

When you know that it is His KINDNESS that leads us to repentance, and you feel so comfortable in His presence that you know He WILL FORGIVE, then it is easy to run TO Him instead of away.

In the 5th chapter of the book of James, he draws a connection between being sick and needing to call for the elders to pray for you so that your sins will be forgiven. In this case we have a direct connection to sickness and sin.

Does that mean that your sickness is always from sin? Well, there are many more factors to consider. Sickness can come from so many sources, that it may be difficult to pinpoint exactly where yours came from!

First do some honest searching, are you eating and drinking the way you should? Do you avoid toxins in your food and environment as much as possible? Are you pretty good at not stuffing harsh emotions and grief?

The best way to heal is to take into account lifestyle, food, emotions, clean environment, thoughts, and behavior. But we have to be willing to look into every area and make honest changes.

If you have discovered that there is an area that needs to be exposed and fixed, make sure you are open and willing to make those changes!

As an emotional and Biblical healing coach, the biggest changes I see are when people can recognize where they are missing the mark, they receive it, accept it, don’t argue, and are quick to repent.
In every case when someone is teachable like that, we see huge breakthrough!!
